One of the world’s most iconic fashion superstars, Elle Macpherson, is today confirmed as the new host of LIVING’s Britain’s Next Top Model, the UK’s ultimate search to find the next big name in fashion.

Elle is one of the most applauded and respected names in the fashion industry, and, as a successful businesswoman, spearheads a multi-million pound commercial enterprise, which has developed a lingerie line and a collection of body products. She is also Global Spokeswoman for Revlon Cosmetics. This exciting union between the Elle Macpherson brand and Britain’s most talked about fashion entertainment show, is guaranteed to raise the bar to an ultra-glamorous new level. In a move that will ensure the show benefits from the full range of Elle’s skills, she will also be Executive Producer of the programme.

As a consummate style, beauty and modelling professional, Elle’s unrivalled and enduring expertise makes her a natural choice to take charge of the show, which returns to LIVING in summer 2010. Her wisdom and knowledge of the entertainment, fashion and business industries is testament to a hugely successful career that has spanned over three decades. Elle’s intention is to inspire and mentor an ambitious group of modelling hopefuls looking to get their big break in the modelling industry.

A creative entrepreneur, Elle has achieved international success with an enviable business portfolio that includes Elle Macpherson Intimates, a luxurious line of lingerie that launched in 1990 and has since gone onto become a best selling lingerie line in Great Britain, Australia and continues to expand into a further eleven countries by the end of 2010. The brand is currently stocked in 337 UK outlets alone, including Harrods, House of Fraser, Selfridges, Liberty and Harvey Nichols. She has also created a range of body skin care products aptly named The Body, and currently acts as spokesperson for Revlon cosmetics and Invisible Zinc Suncare.

After being accepted into law school in Australia, Elle diverted her ambition to be lawyer when at seventeen years old she began her modelling career. After signing with the prestigious New York-based Click Models and moving on later to Ford Models, she was hailed as one of a new generation of “supermodels” and dominated both magazines and headlines across the globe alongside fellow fashion legends Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington. During her illustrious modelling career, Elle has graced the covers of Time, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Tatler and of course Elle magazine. In addition, she set a record six front cover appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues, which first earned her the title of “The Body”. She is now signed to Fortitude Models in LA.

Each week, Elle and her team of judges will eliminate one contestant in their quest to uncover a new cover star, with the winner scooping the ultimate prize package – a contract with agents Models 1 and a cover spread with monthly glossy Company.
