Making Travelodge more than a place to stay

Consumer PR campaigns that turn everyday behaviours into useful, memorable brand experiences

Work

As Travelodge’s creative consumer PR agency, we turn everyday behaviours, cultural trends and human insights into campaigns that people genuinely want to engage with.

From transforming the universal experience of having your best ideas in the shower into a practical brand innovation with Shower Thoughts, to tapping into a viral festive behaviour with Wrapping Rooms, our work finds unexpected ways to show how Travelodge fits into real life. By turning relatable moments into newsworthy stories and memorable experiences, we keep the brand relevant, useful and connected to its guests.

Shower Thoughts

Travelodge turned the universal experience of having your best ideas in the shower into a newsworthy brand story by trialling waterproof notepads in selected hotel bathrooms.

Supported by research revealing that almost half of Brits have their brightest ideas while showering – but 65% forget them before writing them down – the campaign highlighted the unexpected places inspiration strikes, particularly for business travellers.

By transforming a relatable behavioural insight into a simple, practical product innovation, Travelodge positioned itself as a brand that understands the needs of guests on the road.

The trial generated widespread media interest while reinforcing the hotel’s role as a place where great ideas can happen.

Wrapping Rooms

Travelodge turned the festive stress of wrapping presents into a newsworthy activation by launching free ‘Wrapping Rooms’ in hotels across London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Inspired by the viral trend of parents booking hotel rooms to wrap gifts in secret, the dedicated spaces were stocked with wrapping paper, tape, festive decorations and refreshments, giving guests a private place to prepare for Christmas.

Supported by research revealing that two in five parents worry about their children discovering presents early – and that over a third of Brits have accidentally spoiled a surprise by walking in mid-wrap – the campaign transformed a relatable seasonal pain point into a practical brand experience.

By tapping into a viral social trend with a real-world activation, Travelodge generated widespread festive coverage while reinforcing its hotels as convenient spaces that solve everyday problems.
