Just watch your step! AirBnB offer one night stay in an amazing LEGO house!

AirBnB have teamed up with LEGO to offer one lucky family with the chance of spending a night at the recently opened LEGO House in Billund, Denmark – the home of the famous children’s toy. Most importantly, there will be LEGO proof slippers, so you don’t have to wince at the thought of stepping on a stray block.

Almost everything, from the furniture to the decorations, is entirely made from LEGO (even an adorable LEGO cat). Thankfully, the mattress, pillows, and duvet, are the only things NOT made from the little blocks; just make sure to check the bed before you lie down!

The quirky holiday will be hosted by Master Lego Builder (or design manager specialist), Jamie Berard. With his assistance, the winning family will take part in fun LEGO activities like making their own LEGO films, building robotic cars, and designing a meal using LEGO, which is then served by two robot waiters!

To win, all families have to do is describe what they would make is they had an unlimited supply of LEGO bricks – Berard will even try to assist with building it during your stay! Unfortunately, LEGO has yet to announce if they will be releasing an instruction booklet to build the house yourself, here’s hoping!

What’s in the box? Lego shake things up in their new adorable Holiday video

With the festive season now just around the corner, everyone has a tactic to figure out what presents await them. You can try and feel what’s under the wrapping paper, or guess by weight and size, but everyone knows that the tried and tested method to figure out what’s inside that box is to simply shake it (and hope it’s nothing fragile). In their new Holiday campaign, LEGO shows that the iconic rattle of the small building blocks is enough to get any child’s imagination going!

In this short yet endearing video, LEGO presented children with an unassuming, gift wrapped present and asked them to guess what was inside. After shaking the box, each child’s eyes lit up with excitement as they recognised that specific LEGO sound and gleefully told the camera what they wanted to make once they opened it.

From flying boats to carrot villages, the kids certainly don’t seem to be short of ideas, truly showing the magic of the world renowned toy.

Never “Lego” of your imagination: Lego brings children’s crazy creations to life

The wonderful people at the Lego Group have made a cloud that rains candy, after gathering a group of kids at their ‘Lego Playgroup’ and asking them “if you could build anything, what would you make?”. Of course these young, imaginative children  built something only dreams are made of; a rainbow cloud that rains candy!

Lego commissioned a group of Aeronautical Engineering students from Singapore Poly-Tech to make the kids dream a reality. The engineers build a drone-powered cotton wool cloud, which actually RAINED CANDY!

One student involved in the project said “I think as we grow up, we have this preconceived idea of what can and can’t be done, but as kids they don’t really have that., so they’ve got this boundless imagination”

The look of amazement that washes over the kids faces when they see their magical candy cloud float down is simply heart warming. Now if only we could order one for the office!

LEGO reveals new machine to put your “selfie” in a personalised LEGO kit

The largest LEGO Store in the world has just launched a new feature for their guests: a photo booth style Mosaic Maker that allows customers to have their face turned into a LEGO mosaic within minutes.

In todays’ agenda, more and more companies use new technology and innovations to come up with creative ideas for their customers. LEGO is trying to convert them into unique experiences as they launch the ‘Mosaic Maker’.

So how does it work?

As you enter the booth (made out of bricks as well), the Mosaic Maker snaps a couple of headshots then renders it on the LEGO bricks that are printed on the kit. In under ten minutes you can get the LEGO set ready with your unique instructions and all of the bricks that you need to build the mosaic with. Then, it will take around three hours to have fun and put your picture together with LEGO bricks.

Lego has been working on this new version since the beginning of the year, with a lot of testing and development.  Lego’s Head of Global Retail Innovation, Martin Urrutia declared, ‘We know that today, for our fans, personalisation is very important.’ And what can be better than creating your own set and having your ‘selfie’ included?

So, if you want to create your face with LEGO bricks, head on down to Leicester Square and try it out!

This festive season Lego will be releasing a line of slippers with extra thick soles aimed to protect the feet of parents.

Because in the battle of clearing up Lego vs not – foot protection is key.

For 1,500 parents, the excruciating pain caused by treading on a stray Lego piece will no longer be an issue. The lucky few to receive these sole saving slippers will be chosen from the people who have created wish lists on the company’s website – so if you want to be in with a chance, get writing!
