Next year we are only able to facilitate 24 placements and therefore due to the incredible volume and outstanding quality of work experience applications that we have already received, we will not be taking any more applications until further notice in the New Year.

Taylor Herring manages a well regarded and rewarding 4 week work experience scheme. Any candidate spending 4 weeks in our creative hubbub will taste an extremely varied set of experiences from the world of PR: meeting clients, attending press days, assisting on events, pitching media, writing, researching, brainstorming, blogging and presentation.

We have been hosting this scheme for many years now and many of our best graduates have stayed on and are still with us today at senior levels!

Our work experience scheme is in huge demand, and we have tried to expand it to accommodate more of you, however, due to the pressure on places, we have had to formalise our eligibility criteria to university students and graduates only, and all places will be subject to an interview process followed by a short test.

FEEDBACK

Tiffany Kizito

Graduate in International Public Policy, Wilfrid Laurier University Canada (Work Experience,  June 6th – July 1st 2011)

"I very much enjoyed my time at Taylor Herring and I learned a great deal about working in a PR agency. I appreciated being given many different tasks including drafting a press release, pitching to clients, organising interviews, attending a press day, and reporting , all of which really opened my eyes to life at a PR agency! I think a certain amount of trust was given to me to fulfill certain tasks and I found this to be quite encouraging and it motivated me to do more and learn more. Thank you for making me feel so welcome. I’ve had a fabulous time at Taylor Herring and it was an absolute pleasure meeting you all. Hopefully our paths will cross again'.

"I am so so so beyond gutted to be leaving!!! These past three months have absolutely flown by.  You all have made this such a wonderful experience for me and I sincerely hope to be back here in the future—do keep in touch! You are all amazing, hilarious and spectacularly wacky and I will miss each and every one of you.  Thank you everyone for making me feel so welcome and comfortable.  In fact, I hardly feel like just an intern anymore and I’m genuinely sad to be leaving. Goodbye for now, but hopefully not for long."

David Woolfe

3rd year Geography student - University of Nottingham (Work experience 8th August – 2nd September 2011)

"The work gave me a great insight into the operations of the agency and how it serves its clients. By being included as well as participating in brainstorming sessions, editing press releases, writing episode billings as well as chasing up journalists to cover specific pieces to publicise our clients, I really did feel a part of the team and that my contribution was somewhat helpful/positive. My team were really good on the front of keeping me busy, making sure that I always had something to be getting on with that was worthwhile and interesting to do. Everyone in the office has been so friendly and really willing to help me learn about each and every aspect of the industry and I was made to feel welcome from the first day... great office atmosphere."

Susannah Maze

2nd Year History and Social Science student - University of Birmingham (Work Experience August 22nd - September 16th 2011)

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Taylor Herring and feel privileged to have experienced so many aspects to PR at such a respected and successful company. From day 1 I was thrown in the deep end doing radio sell-ins for an upcoming client visit and was made to feel instantly part of the team. I gained so much confidence on the phone which is crucial in the industry; learning to apply the story to appeal to different papers and radio stations. A personal highlight was going to an FHM shoot with Dynamo. Getting to work with the client was a brilliant opportunity and learning how to deal appropriately with a client when they are on a job, for example making sure that interviews and pictures are conducted with the best interest of the client. This was both a great learning experience and a lot of fun!"

Ebba Nyberg

1st Year Public Relations student, London College of Communication ( Intern July 4th – September 23rd 2011)

"From making press packs, to calling journalists, writing episode billings, everything has been a new challenge. As I have been here for Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model, I have been able to go to photo shoots, listened to interviews and prepared material for different magazines, which has been an amazing experience. The research has also been a lot of fun, since it gives you the opportunity to see the whole process from research to result. Thank you Taylor Herring for a brilliant few months."
