1 Billion Supporters Wanted For Global Cool

The first project will see the agency working with Hollywood star Sienna Miller who has signed up with Global Cool on an awareness raising, seven day tour of Mumbai and the surrounding area.

The Alfie and Factory Girl star will visit areas that are likely to be hardest hit by climate change and look at the ramifications of this. She will also hook up with Bollywood stars in taking the campaign message to the biggest possible local audience.

The actress joins a high profile list of the campaign’s supporters that includes HRH Prince Charles and the Rt Hon Tony Blair.

Speaking about the Global Cool campaign Tony Blair said “This is a wonderful initiative that I hope will inspire people the world over.
Individuals can help by doing something themselves, but also by being part of a movement like Global Cool.”

The Global Cool campaign aims to get one billion people to take on the challenge of tackling climate change – and pledge reduce their personal CO2 emissions by one ton by signing up to www.globalcool.org.

Sienna Miller’s trip is part of the Global Cool’s international programme of events over the coming year initially targeting those regions where climate-change will hit people the hardest.

Julian Knight, Chairman and CEO of Global Cool said; “Climate-change is a global drama unfolding before our eyes, and with its vast population and rapidly developing economy, India has the potential to be both hero and villain on the world-stage. Using entertainment and entertainers to engage with people of all ages, nationalities and social backgrounds, Global Cool will collectively cool the earth and help people to make the small changes that make a big difference to the health of the planet.”

Sienna Miller has already collaborated with Global Cool starring alongside Tony Blair in a short movie spoof, promoted by Taylor Herring, which premiered at the Bollywood Oscars, the IIFA Film Awards. The film was screened in over 400 million homes on the Indian continent before its general release on cinema and as a pre-film on high profile DVD releases.
