Welcome to life on Mars!

Red planet makeover for streets and landmarks of London

To celebrate the launch of the new docu-drama TV series ‘MARS’ on National Geographic we turned Trafalgar Square into a Martian landscape for a day.

The iconic urban tourist spot was converted overnight into the desolate rocky Red Planet.

Artists used imagery from the Mars surface to create a giant 3D canvas featuring craters, ravines and canyons.

Accompanied by Airbus’ Mars Rover prototype ‘Bridget’, the scene also featured rock sculptures meticulously created to replicated the Martian surface geology.

The campaign was well received by media and resulted in  32 pieces of coverage, including 3 national print pieces and national and consumer online including x3 Mail Online, The Sun, Daily Mirror, The Independent, Yahoo!, BT and Lonely Planet.
