Casey Neistat releases inspirational “love letter” video message to the YouTube Community

Casey Niestat can add another layer to his resume: YouTuber, vlogger, filmmaker and now motivational speaker for the YouTube community.

His latest YouTube video entitled “DO WHAT YOU CAN’T” is more of a love letter to his fellow YouTubers whilst subtly championing his long running partnership with the tech company, Samsung.

Following his previous work with Samsung for the Academy Awards last month, Casey has now made a video about his own experience as a Youtuber.

Being so popular isn’t as easy as it seems… He had to overcome so many obstacles and doors slamming in his face on his way to success and this was the aim of the video: to create an inspirational video that, this time, will celebrate the YouTube community.

“If I were to write an autobiography, a book about my life, one title that would work would be Do What You Can’t,” Neistat narrates. Neistat talks about the filmmakers on YouTube that have defied the odds by taking their creativity and careers into their own hands. The message of this video is pretty simple: find success on your own terms. And do it with passion!

Recognisable YouTubers like Liza Koshy, Lilly Singh, Marques Brownlee, Gigi Gorgeous, Rosanna Pansino, h3h3productions, Devin ‘Supertramp’ Graham, Phil DeFranco, Jesse Wellens, Grace Helbig, and others are featured in a quick succession.

Finally, he tells the YouTube community to “keep creating…and never forget, you don’t have to listen to anyone, because in this new world, no one knows anything.” To date the video has gained over 2 M views in two days and is the 6th trending video on YouTube clearly his message is getting across.

This isn’t the first time that Casey has created a buzzworthy video on his channel alongside Samsung. He had previously released several videos documenting his antics being pulled around on a snowboard by a specially designed Samsung drone and making us all very jealous.

Renault tracks ‘real’ views

Ah the YouTube view. The mark of a successful campaign is often determined by that number ticking away under your latest campaign video. People nervously refresh is hoping it suddenly explodes into popularity. Some brands… ‘manufacture’ YouTube views – a well known secret. Renault, clearly taking a swipe at these “views” have come up with a way of tracking ‘legitimate’ views:

State of the art facial recognition software is installed in the new Renault Megane which, we’re told, can recognise and count ‘real views’ from people who’s heads are turned at the, admittedly attractive, car.

The video might not have generated a huge amount of views itself, but created a lot of noise on social media and in the PR trade press itself.

Mario Karting through Westfield

Let’s get real for a second; Mario Kart ruins lives. I have seen friendships destroyed because of a rogue banana skin, expensive controls slammed to the ground in an uproar and stoney silence as first place is snatched away in the blink of an eye.

It’s not often you’d recommend acting out a videogame in real life, but real life Mario Kart might be a little bit safer – it certainly looks like it in this PR stunt:

Nothing beats charging around a quiet shopping centre, donning full Mario attire and weaving in and out of structures all in the name of good fun (and GoPro.) The stunt has made it to the National media where it’s been well received, and the video itself has over 2 million views on Facebook. Proof that slapping a GoPro on something hilarious makes it even better

 

Festival goers find fame with Pepsi

Ever wanted to try being famous for a day? PepsiCo together with YouTube star Jack Jones are giving festival goers the opportunity to experience the lavish lifestyle…

But just for an hour.

Calm down.

The team at Pepsi Max have launched their ‘One Hour Entourage’ stunt, which sees festival revellers being offered a VIP ‘entourage’ for an hour.

This includes a full VIP makeover by celebrity stylist Alexis Knox; a team of staff including a butler, security guard, manager, groupie (of course) and photographer; plus access to a private viewing platform.

Jones said about the experience “Giving people fun and unexpected experiences is what I love doing, so it was great to be able to put some of my skills to the test in a different, festival environment”.

Ant-Man gets a Lego Makeover

Ant-Man premiered in cinemas last week, netting a massive $114 million in its opening weekend, and since then everyone’s been jumping on the miniature bandwagon, including Toscano Bricks.

The YouTuber and Lego remake specialist has recreated an alternative advert for the film, consisting entirely of  Lego bricks and tiny Lego characters (including Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd Lego lookalikes).

This video is not Tuscano Bricks‘ only masterpiece – check out his channel for a whole host of brilliant film advert recreations…
