LONDON: Wednesday 24th February 2010: Lovebox has anounced its phenomenal 2010 line-up which will include; legendary art-rock pioneers Roxy Music, music and style icon Grace Jones, hip-hop impresario Dizzee Rascal, super-producer Mark Ronson & The Business, the massively acclaimed Empire of the Sun and beloved electro pop-juggernauts Hot Chip.

London’s premiere festival which will take place in Victoria Park from the 16th-18th July will also play host to The Maccabees, Ellie Goulding and The Noisettes at the newly expanded three day event.

FRIDAY

Headlined by Brit award-winning, Dizzee Rascal, the new Friday will showcase the very best in dance and pop including the enchanting Ellie Goulding and pop trio the Noisettes while Brighton based indie rockers The Maccabees will headline the Gaymers Stage.

Friday will also play host to some of the hippest names on the dance music scene, with Italian DJ duo Crookers making their only London festival appearance, superstar club DJ’s Brodinski and Sinden taking to the stage and arguably Europe’s hottest DJ property for 2010, Riva Starr, joining the bill. While over in the NYC Downlow, Zinc and Dynamite MC, Toddla T, MJ Cole, and 2009’s favourite producer, on a London festival exclusive, Joy Orbison will be keeping things mighty real.

SATURDAY

The Lovebox crowd will be in for a rare treat when the phenomenal Roxy Music take to the main stage on the Saturday night. Fans of the band should visit www.lovebox.net to see exclusive audio and video content released by Roxy Music to celebrate their headline spot.

Bryan Ferry said ‘There is a song on my album that I have co-written with my friends Groove Armada. They asked me if Roxy would like to perform at Lovebox. We of course thought it would be cool.’

The newly-formed Mark Ronson & the Business will be joining them on the bill, alongside the acclaimed Empire of the Sun who are playing their first ever London show.

Mark Ronson said ‘Lovebox is the first festival that ever let me perform with the Version players (my band). And to go from that memory in 2006 to playing there last year, on stage with my childhood heroes Duran Duran is really something. We will certainly do our best to make this our best Lovebox performance yet.’

Internationally renowned outfit Booka Shade headline the Relentless dance stage on Saturday and we have our own slice of Berlin in the capital in the form of Jesse Rose, Henrik Schwarz Live and Dixon (Innervisions). We are also proud to welcome an East vs West London soundclash to Lovebox, the Hip Hop and R N B crews Work It and Yo Yo will be pairing up for a proper NYC style block party!

SUNDAY

This year also sees the exciting launch of Lovebox’s groundbreaking all-new Sunday, which blends the coolest music, emergent art, cutting edge fashion and more to create an all-inclusive polysexual event unlike any other.

The immortal music and style icon known as Grace Jones will be headlining the main stage, bringing her ever revolutionary flair for subversion to Victoria Park.

Beloved electro-pop juggernauts Hot Chip will also be present and correct, fresh from the critical success of their brand new album, One Life Stand. Over on the Gaymers Stage, electro-funk duo Chromeo will be tearing up proceedings and are joined by returning Aussie heroes Cut Copy, who, in a UK festival exclusive, will be dazzling audiences with their beautiful, nostalgia streaked pop, while the glam disco machine known as Hercules and Love Affair will also be back to enthrall once more with their irrepressible, glitter-strewn music.

Also along for the ride are renowned pop provocateur Peaches, the much buzzed about and deliciously offbeat new duo Silver Columns, and moody new upstarts Hurts, who pricked up ears last year with their wonderfully dark and disturbed single Wonderful Life. Disco Bloodbath, Trailer Trash and Horse Meat Disco are just some of the DJ crews who will be hosting areas on the day.

In addition, the incomparable Jonny Woo – performance artist/entertainer nonpareil – will be compeering the main stage along with his troupe of club freaks and drag queens, which will include a unique, one-off fashion show by Dr Noki NHS. His fiercely individual, recycled clothing has found devotees in the likes of Lady Gaga and Beyonce, as well as an innovative art collaboration with Central St Martins in support of the charity Art Against Knives, which works towards reducing knife crime by engaging young people in troubled areas with art and fashion-based workshops. All in all, an exciting and compelling day out, and a fitting finale to a great weekend.

Alongside the show-stopping performances there will be another healthy dose of Lovebox’s summer shenanigans; with the 40 acre site playing host to numerous other stages, performances and activities.

The infamous NYC Downlow also returns to Lovebox for 2010 after a year’s hiatus. This life-size ruin of a NYC tenement will resurrect New York’s golden age and festival-goers can expect to enjoy an eclectic mix of disco, soul, funk and dance.

As well as offering a diverse music experience – the bustling food market, Sourced Market, returns again, serving up culinary treats direct from the best stalls at Borough and Broadway markets. There will also be a broad program of theatre, art and comedy for those wanting to take timeout from the music performances.

Ticket Details

Tickets are available from www.lovebox.net as well as from Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.co.uk) or by calling 08448472436.

London, November 9, 2009 – LoveLive, a new live music content producer and aggregator specialising in digital engagement and distribution has signed a partnership agreement with Rockfeedback, the UK’s best source of cutting edge music editorial and production, to create programming and solutions for TV, internet and mobile platforms.

Rockfeedback.com predominantly focuses on the finest in modern music and provides quality and discerning editorial formed from a wish to promote and nurture up and coming artists. Content on the website spans recorded music and live reviews, in-depth features, special guest columns, videos, and competitions, all compiled by a global team of writers and photographers.

Rockfeedback.com was recently re-launched to incorporate leading engagement video solution Kyte, enabling the breadth, depth and unique voice and creative of Rockfeedback’s audio-visual archive to be showcased for the first time online.

Over the past seven years, Rockfeedback through its in-house production unit, Rockfeedback.TV Productions, has developed the UK’s premier video archive of contemporary music and now boasts a catalogue of over 750 live performances from more than 500 artists, from Florence and The Machine, to Vampire Weekend, the Pixies, to every new band set to make waves on the music scene. Rockfeedback also produced the Rockfeedback Presents show, which debuted on MTV Two in August 2006 before being broadcast on Channel 4 the following autumn. A further three seasons have been commissioned and broadcast.

Since concluding the partnership agreement, LoveLive and Rockfeedback have secured major framework agreements with labels, as well as numerous commissions and licensing deals from relevant and quality consumer brands looking to tap into their alternative music and live events expertise.

Coca Cola Europe commissioned an exclusive viral to promote its recycling campaign “Keep it going. Recycle”. Recycle: The Life Story Of A Coke Bottle was created and produced by LoveLive and has been translated for local markets across Europe.

Babelgum licensed a series of mini-artist documentaries for its alternative music offering from the extensive music catalogue including Friendly Fires, Dizzee Rascal, and the Kaiser Chiefs. The company also commissioned a series of nine half-hour artist and festival specials including Primavera Festival 2009, Field Day 2009 and Underage 2009.

Virgin Atlantic, meanwhile, commissioned Rockfeedback to create a tailored one-hour TV show featuring festivals, live performances and behind-the-scenes footage as part of its award-winning inflight entertainment selection as well as a podcast for its audio on-demand system onboard and editorial for Virgin Atlantic’s inflight magazine, Seatback.

LoveLive and Rockfeedback now manage one of the UK’s most comprehensive cleared video and audio catalogue of modern music. The catalogue contains short-form documentaries with key live/studio tracks, interviews, behind-the-scenes and exclusives covering everyone of importance and relevance, from Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Sonic Youth and Skream to Tinchy Stryder, Daniel Johnston, and hundreds more, plus conversations with influential industry figures such as Seymour Stein and Zane Lowe.

The Rockfeedback live event production team continue to build on the catalogue filming at leading music festivals the world over, whether iTunes, SXSW (USA), Fuji Rock (Japan), Camden Crawl, Airwaves (Iceland), Oya Festival (Norway), Planeta Terra (Brazil), or others besides.

Rockfeedback also hosts and films its own staged club nights and more recently moved its regular monthly fixture to trendy haunt The Lexington, Islington. Rockfeedback club nights regularly feature bands before they break or that would normally play to much bigger audiences including Graham Coxon (Blur), The Temper Trap, The Kooks, Foals and Jamie T.

Commenting on the partnership, Toby L, Creative Director and Founder of Rockfeedback, said: “For nine years, Rockfeedback has been a self-sustaining passion project, and we’ve been fortunate to receive a loyal fanbase of clubnight attendees, television viewers and website readers. Now, however, the chance is with us to dripfeed and post our archive of material on a much more significant basis the world over. Our mission to promote honest, life-changing music hasn’t changed – it’s now with the bonus of being able to occur on a bigger scale. The deal with LoveLive marks a thrilling new chapter in the Rockfeedback story, conveniently in time for our tenth anniversary in 2010!”

Richard Cohen, Founder & CEO, LoveLive, added: “Literally within minutes of meeting with Tim and Toby, it was clear to me that we needed to be in business together. Their boundless energy, passion for and knowledge of all things music, combined with a track record in delivering quality editorial and programming was crying out for a larger platform and commercial framework. As they happen to also be extremely likeable, we wasted no time in establishing our partnership which combines all of the Rockfeedback attributes, with commercial discipline, financial backing and a significant distribution network. I could not be any more excited by the opportunities we now have to further develop this business together and expand our activities across international territories and repertoires.”

–ENDS–

Notes to Editors:

Focusing on alternative music it provides quality discerning editorial, formed from a wish to promote and nurture up-and-coming talent and bands. The Lexington, Islington now plays host to Rockfeedback’s operations where they film, edit and showcase the most-talked-about new musical talent.
LONDON: Friday 22nd May 2009: Indie band Elbow are celebrating a double win at the Ivor Novello awards, including the main award for best song.

The event, promoted by Taylor Herring PR, was held at London’s Grosvenor House on Park Lane.

The group, who claimed last year’s Mercury Prize, triumphed with One Day Like This while Grounds For Divorce won best contemporary song.

The Ting Tings and Duffy also picked up Ivor Novello awards, which honour excellence in music writing.

Winners of special achievement awards included electro pioneer Vince Clarke and Motown legend Smokey Robinson.

Picking up Elbow’s first award for best contemporary song – beating songs by Dizzee Rascal with Calvin Harris, and The Ting Tings – lead singer Guy Garvey said: “It’s a great honour against fierce opposition with some great songs.”

Picking up her award for most performed work Mercy alongside co-writer Steve Booker, Duffy thanked those who had helped shape her career.

“I was a girl from Wales, I did not know what music was. I knew I had a set of pipes and that would get me a frigging long way.”

Eg White, who co-wrote hits including Adele’s Chasing Pavements and Warwick Avenue by Duffy, said it was “very exciting” to win the award for the “fun, fast, quite scary” art of songwriting.

Smokey Robinson, 69, told the audience he had flown to the UK for one day to pick up his special international award.

Meanwhile, Vince Clarke, who has had hits with acts including Depeche Mode, Yazoo, The Assembly and Erasure, simply said it was “a real honour to get this award”.

Organisers said it was the first time in his 30-year career that Clarke, 48, who won the outstanding song collection gong, had turned up to pick up an award.

The biggest applause of the ceremony was reserved for Edwyn Collins, 49, formerly of 1980s Glaswegian band Orange Juice and best known for 1994 hit A Girl Like You. Collins, who walked to the stage with a walking stick to pick up the inspiration award, suffered two brain haemorrhages in 2005 before spending a further six months in hospital after a surgical scar became infected with the MRSA bug.

Bristol dance music collective Massive Attack won the outstanding contribution to British music award. (source: BBC)

LONDON. Tuesday 21st April: A little known musician who is currently employed as a warehouse worker has joined the cream of British song writing talent as a nominee for this year’s 54th Ivor Novello Awards. Other nominees this year include Duffy and Coldplay.

35 year old Nick Hemming, the guitarist and chief songwriter from the little known indie band, The Leisure Society is now set to fight it out with industry heavyweights Elbow and Miles Kane and Alex Turner from The Last Shadow Puppets for the award of ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically’ when the awards take place at London’s Grosvenor House on the 21st May.

Staffordshire born Nick is nominated for the band’s self published and self produced debut single; ‘The Last of the Melting Snow’, which was released to widespread critical acclaim in December 2008. The single failed to reach the Top 40 despite receiving extensive radio support including a coveted ‘Record of the Week’ slot on Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie’s Radio 2 show. The track has also been championed by his chief rival for the award – Elbow front man Guy Garvey who named it his favourite song of 2008.

Nick, who once played in the band ‘She Talks To Angels’ with actor Paddy Considine, film director Shane Meadows and bassist Richard Eaton, has also written and performed music for the films ‘A Room for Romeo Brass’ and ‘Dead Man’s Shoes.’

Nick Hemming commented “I worked in a record shop for many years and I can remember reading about the Ivors, thinking how it would be the coolest award to win as it’s decided on artistic rather than commercial merit. I went straight onto the Ivors website after I’d received the nomination letter and found endorsements from Paul McCartney and John Barry, two of my biggest musical heroes. It all feels a little surreal at the moment; I’m incredibly flattered that so many people have taken such a personal song to their hearts.”

Patrick Rackow, Chief Executive of BASCA commented “Once again the breadth of the works nominated shows the health of British music writing and the range of talent. I am particularly pleased to see new names on the list of nominees and would like to thank this year’s judges for all of their hard work”

Held at the Grosvenor House on Thursday 21st May 2009, The Ivors are presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music, and continue to be acknowledged as one of the most coveted awards in the industry. Previous winners include Sir Paul McCartney, Madonna, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Sting, Annie Lennox and Radiohead.
