Sky Bet give Carlisle fans an early Christmas present….

Sky Bet, title sponsor of the Football League, covered the cost of tickets AND travel for Carlisle United fans travelling to Plymouth on Tuesday.

42 Cumbrian fans hopped on board the swanky coach, setting off on the trek at 10am Tuesday morning, due to return to Carlisle at 5am today.

Sky Bet Head of Sponsorship Edwin Martin said: “We thought the loyal Carlisle fans making the trip deserved a bit of help to make their away day trip even better.”

Well that’s nice isn’t it? Bear in mind just how loyal these fans are… 779-miles isn’t exactly a stones throw away!

So was the mega road trip worth it?

Nope, Carlisle lost 4-1.
