Comedy PR: Taylor Herring Lands Comedy Store Gig.

The Comedy Store, long regarded as comedy’s unofficial national theatre, has hired Taylor Herring PR to launch its 30th anniversary celebrations. With successful venues in both London and Manchester, the Comedy Store has grown to become one of Britain’s best known and most loved comedy brands thanks to the club’s ability to break new talent and its all star alumni which spans the spectrum of comedy royalty from Paul Merton and Lee Evans to Chris Rock.

chris-rockRecent years have witnessed several successful brand extensions including audio downloads and CDs and there are ambitious plans for 2009.

Taylor Herring will be working on a four month campaign aimed at maximising awareness around a week long programme of anniversary gigs in May alongside a star studded birthday party.

The agency will also be working with the club’s famous alumni and the store’s founder Don Ward on a series of high profile features and television interviews.

Don Ward comments: “Taylor Herring has the comedy credentials and the creative ideas that will bring our anniversary year to life. Whilst the rest of the nation settles into doom and gloom in a recession year, the public’s appetite for comedy has never been greater and we know that we have a great story to tell and a superb line up of comedy shows.”

The Comedy Store’s 30th birthday celebrations will kick off with an all star charity event on Monday the 18th May followed by a star-studded party.

Taylor Herring’s comedy credentials include Catherine Tate, The Friday Night Project and Jimmy Carr.
